Hyperhidrosis treatment protocol
This eliminates excessive sweating from the palms of the hands, soles of the feet, axillas and groin.
Results and duration
Duration: eliminates sweat in the injected area for 6 to 8 months.
Results: the effect, elimination of excessive sweating, is due to blocking the release of a substance called acetylcholine.
What is it?
Hyperhidrosis is excessive sweating in areas such as the palms of the hands, soles of the feet or armpits. Botulinum toxin is an excellent treatment to eliminate it.This substance blocks the messages coming from the sympathetic nerves, which order the sweat glands to produce sweat, thus achieving normal secretion of sweat in the axillary, palmar or plantar areas.
How is it performed?
Small doses of botulinum toxin are administered in the defined area, and this is carried out with microinjections, with very fine needles.
This treatment uses Botulinum toxin to effectively and safely treat and reduce excessive perspiration under the arms, palms and soles of the feet.
- This is a simple treatment, which is carried out in the specialist’s consultation with topical anaesthesia.
- The results are totally satisfactory, and the treatment effects are usually long-lasting, around six months.
Areas of application
- Palms of the hands.
- Soles of the feet.
Recommendations and care
- It is advisable to wait at least 24 hours before doing any activity that requires overexertion.
- It is important not to massage the treated area.
Normally this is performed once a year, when the summer season starts (approximately during the month of May), and the effect usually lasts until November.Ideally this is repeated when the heat of summer returns.
